Table of contents
Welcome to the new home of the BRIO Construction blog. We've rebuilt the entire reading experience from scratch — faster pages, a cleaner layout, and tools that make our renovation guides genuinely useful instead of just SEO filler.
If you've read our older posts, you'll notice a few things have changed.
What's new
The new template was designed around three things our readers told us mattered most: clarity, scannability, and trust. Every section now has a clear purpose, callouts highlight the things you actually need to act on, and we've added before/after comparisons for projects where seeing the difference is half the story.
A reading experience that respects your time
Long-form construction guides are useful, but they need to stay navigable. On desktop you'll see a sticky table of contents on the left — click any heading to jump straight to that section. On mobile, the same TOC is one tap away at the top of every article. A reading-progress bar at the top shows you how far through the article you are.
Real expertise, attributed to real people
Every post now has a named author with their actual role at BRIO — not a generic house byline. That matters because when you're reading about Vancouver basement-suite legalization, it's worth knowing whether the writer has actually pulled that permit before.
What you can expect from us going forward
We're publishing new guides on three tracks:
- Permits and process — practical, specific, "do this in this order" walkthroughs for Vancouver, North Van, Richmond, and the rest of Metro Vancouver.
- Design and material decisions — what we'd actually do (and why) on real budgets in 2026.
- What things really cost — honest breakdowns of the line items most contractors won't show you until quote day.
“
The construction industry is built on jargon and opacity. Our blog is built on the opposite of that.

A note on what we're not doing
We're not chasing trends or writing thinly-sourced "10 things you need to know" listicles. If a topic doesn't help you make a real decision about a real project, we won't write about it. That's it — that's the whole content strategy.
If there's something specific you'd like us to write about, reply to any of our newsletters or drop us a note via the form below. We read every message.
